Danny Coleman is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Georgetown, Texas. He has performed throughout the U.S. in styles ranging from Rock to Americana to Blues to Country to Jazz.
As a bassist, Danny has extensive performance and recording experience on fretted, fretless and upright bass. Danny also plays guitar, mandolin, ukulele, drums, and does recording engineering/production in his home studio.
As a singer-songwriter, Danny's songs are eclectic and often quirky, and have been described as “songs that make you laugh and then make you cry.” Lyrical content ranges from ruminations on small towns left to die (South Central), and struggling farming communities (Town With No Name), to a lovestruck doomsday prepper trying to woo his gal (Hunker in the Bunker), to an old-school Country & Western commiseration on what it must feel like to be a penguin in Waco, Texas (The Penguins In Waco).
Danny often performs with his musical partner and wife, Carla Coleman (piano, vocals, songwriting) under the name Kinda Sorta.

Danny Coleman appears in the Places & Spaces Songwriter Series at Texas Music Cafe. Doors open at 7:30 PM. Show begins at 8PM. Texas Music Cafe, founded in 1997, is an intimate theater/listening room and live television recording studio located in the Cultural Arts District of Waco, with a mission to present and archive music from the melting pot of Texas.
The venerable NeWorlDeli is an old-school deli with killer sandwiches and a long history of supporting local music. We'll be joined by our friend Jeff Hoffman and will be performing as a trio.
